Sky Jaguar (スカイジャガー?) is a shoot 'em up game developed and published by Konami and released in 1984 for Arcade platforms and later ported on MSX and ColecoVision. The game had also an unofficial release on the Sega Master System in South Korea.

Gameplay

The game is a shoot 'em up with a vertical scrolling and plays like traditional shoot 'em up games. The player controls a plane and has to get rid of numerous enemies along the way. Destroying complete enemies formations grants the player additional bonus points. Sometimes the enemies also drop power up (POW) which increase the plane firepower to a double shoots, which make things more easier to defeat the enemies. If the plane is destroyed, the firepower acquired will be lost.

The player will fly over couple of locations such as towns, canyons, seas, forests and deserts. The game doesn't have a system of stages/levels guarded by an end boss like in traditional shoot 'em up, instead the screen scrolls continuously and when it reachs a different background, this is equivalent to another stage. There are still two sort of fortress bosses the players has to face, the first is placed at the third stage and the second one on the eight stage.

Once the second boss is destroyed, there is no ending, instead the game will loop over from the first level layout with an additional difficulty and new enemies, and so on, endlessly.

Other ports

The game was included in a compilation, Konami Game Collection Vol. 3 for MSX, along with some other famous Konami shoot 'em up, such as TwinBee and Nemesis.
