Bomberman II (written as Bomber Man II in the Japanese version) is an action game for the NES. This game was retitled Dynablaster in Europe.
Plot[]
While White Bomberman was walking through the city one day, he noticed Black Bomberman go into a bank. Black Bomberman comes out and leaves a bag of money beside White Bomberman. Before the police show up, Black Bomberman runs away and leaves White Bomberman to take the blame. White Bomberman must escape from prison and catch Black Bomberman to prove his innocence.
Gameplay[]
The gameplay has the same formula as the TurboGrafx-16 Bomberman with the removal of vertical scrolling stages, boss monsters, and four standard enemies (Onil, Minvo, Doria and Peggi); however, the returning enemies were given unique characteristics rather than being copies of Barom, and the power-up appearances, enemy arrangement, and stage order are different. Just as before, the player must use bombs to defeat enemies and find the exit. After eight stages, the player will see a brief scene before going to the next area. The game is complete after six areas.
Trivia[]
- The fourth page of the Japanese manual calls White Bomberman an ambitious young man who worked in the mines. No other game in the series refers to him as a miner.
- This is the only game in the series with a multiplayer maximum of three players (Red as Player 2 and an additional Blue through the use of a peripheral). Black Bomberman himself is non-playable, despite having a role in the game's story.
