Anima Lotta (アニマロッタ) is a roulette medal game developed and published by Konami and released on February 2011 in Japan. It is the first entry in the Anima series.

The machine[]

The cabinet houses 6 different stations, each with support up to two people per station, for up to 12 player play. In the center of the cabinet, a big roulette table is shown, where the balls will be deposited. There are 25 holes in the roulette, labeled 1-25. It also contains a WI-FI terminal called the "Link Terminal" for portable play.

Overview[]

Anima Lotta is a roulette game where players bet medals in different games using a video screen combined with real-action mechanical drawings. Players can customize and use virtual creatures called "Animas" as their avatar during a session.

Wi-Fi terminal play[]

This game has a WI-FI terminal installed on the get-go, called the Link Terminal. Using the Link Terminal, players can take their sessions on the go. Devices supporting play using the Link Terminal are game consoles such as the PSP and Nintendo DSi, mobile play such as the IPhone, Android, and IPad, and Wi-Fi-based PCs using the internet. Up to 100 players could play at the same time here.

To begin a play session, first authenticate and register the terminal using a web browser according to the instructions of the link terminal. Next, set a PIN number required for payment on the link terminal side (you must enter it twice for confirmation). Finally, insert your medals into the link terminal, which will turn them into virtual credits for play. At the end of a play session, enter the PIN that was initially set at the link terminal, select "End", and receive your medals.

Gameplay[]

Each round of Anima Lotta is separated into 5 phases: Betting, Playing, Breaktime, Final Draws, and Payout. They will loop until something happens, like a Wonder Chance or Jackpot Chance.

Betting[]

In the Betting phase, players can bet medals on their games. They can do it in increments of 1 or 10 medals, with a minimum bet of 10 medals. They can do this for 20 or 25 seconds based on the setting.

You can bet on two different formations of games: Single for one player play, or Multi for two player play.

Once time has expired, the game begins.

Playing[]

Once the game starts, a total of eight balls are ejected, in five sets: 3, 2, 1, 1, and 1. As balls are dropped into the roulette holes, microswitches are pressed to signal the computer to draw the number it went in. Events happen on the screen depending on the game played.

There are three different games in Animalotta: Bingo Garden, Chain Bomber, and Anima Tree. Each game has a unique playstyle and means of obtaining a payout. We will show each game here.

Bingo Garden[]

Bingo Garden is a standard Bingo game with a 5x5 square of randomly drawn numbers each round. To win medals, you simply have to make lines of hit numbers horizontally, vertically, or diagonally on the card. The more lines you make, the more medals you win!

During the Bet and Breaktime phases, players can rotate their eight "rotateable" squares in efforts to make more lines on their card. Only the numbers rotate, not the hit sections. However, during Wi-Fi link play, it will automatically rotate to increase bingo and reach, and the player cannot intervene in the operation.

Payouts of medals are as followed, with examples of 10, 30, 50, and 100 bets shown as reference:

  • 1 Line: 0.5x Bet (5/15/25/50)
  • 2 Lines: 2x Bet (20/60/100/200)
  • 3 Lines: 10x Bet (100/300/500/1000)
  • 4 or more Lines: 60x Bet (600/1800/3000/6000)

At the end of a round, if a specified line is all hit, a Wonder Step is given.

If the numbers in the free space is drawn, or if the numbers drawn when the surrounding 8 squares rotate are overlapped, the payout will increase (odds up). This will multiply the wins by (number of odds up hits + 1) times.
